HSBC Private Bank has been supporting design since 2006 when it became principal sponsor of Design Miami/ Basel. In 2009 the Bank decided to strengthen its commitment to design and launched The HSBC Connection Collection, a private collection of limited edition design. The HSBC Connection Collection was launched in 2009 with Rockshelves and Rocksplit by Arik Levy, and then followed in 2010 by Lianes by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, and Vermiculated Ashlar Bench by Max Lamb.

In June 2011, HSBC Private Bank will unveil the fourth Connection Collection at Design Miami/ Basel. Designed by famous Dutch artist Hella Jongerius, the Connection Collection IV is already triggering curiosity and excitement among design aficionados.

"Our partnership with Design Miami/ Basel connects us to the world’s most influential contemporary design. Opening doors is central to our business and we recognise that our clients are increasingly interested in high-end, limited edition design. From idea to realisation and from appreciation to investment, the Design Miami/ Basel events provide access to the full spectrum of the design experience.

"Like HSBC Private Bank, Design Miami/ Basel is motivated by the desire to seek fresh new perspectives from across the globe and we look forward to the event in June."

Tony Joyce
