As a Swiss bank, we attach the greatest of value to the protection and security of your data. Regardless of whether you are a customer or simply a visitor to our bank, we treat all data which we receive from you in our capacity as bank as "Personal Information".

We have imposed on ourselves the following basic principles for handling, when dealing with Personal Information:
  • Personal Information is not sold.
    We do however reserve the right to communicate to other companies inside Switzerland Personal Information within the scope of re-structuring or merger, if these are also in possession of the necessary authorisation to operate a Swiss bank and undertake to comply with these present basic principles for handling.
  • We do not bring Personal Information to the notice of third persons.
    A possible exception however, is the communication of Personal Information to our sub-contractors whereby we at the same time observe the contents of the circular from the Federal Banking Commission on outsourcing. In addition, we restrict ourselves to sub-contractors in Switzerland and subordinate them to Swiss bank secrecy. Sub-contractors are not authorised to store or process Personal Information outside Switzerland.

    We further reserve the right to communicate Personal Information to a third person if we are compelled to do this by law, judicial decision of an appropriate court, or order of an appropriate public authority, or if we are compelled to protect or have enforced our property and/or assets through the appropriate official authorities as a consequence of acts or omissions on your part.
  • We restrict ourselves when compiling data to what is necessary and sensible.
    When we collect Personal Information, we refer you to these basic principles or notify you of how we intend to use the data. As a bank, we require Personal Information to conduct our business and to comply with statutory requirements. On the other hand, this also enables us better to provide you with services tailor-made for you. It can therefore happen that we link Personal Information with other data available to us, for the purposes of optimising our services. We also take the liberty in this connection, of pointing out products or services to you which appear to us to be particularly suitable for you.
  • We convey Personal Information in a coded form.
    When we communicate Personal Information, it always takes place by way of encoding with the latest technologies usual for banks, except where you have expressly consented in advance that a certain unencoded channel of communication is used or certain information is communicated without encoding.
  • We endeavour to collect your Personal Information correctly and to keep it updated.
    If you should nevertheless discover a mistake in your Personal Information, or would like to advise us of an amendment, please notify your Customer Advisor or our central Customer Servicing on telephone number +41-1-206 71 11 accordingly. For reasons of security, please do not communicate your Personal Information by e-mail.
